Feature Overview
When assigning publishers to a campaign, the Contract Terms for the publisher, that is, the Contract Type, Payout amount, the number of leads the publisher must fulfil and any other conditions, need to be defined.
The Contract Terms are specified when assigning the Publisher, using the āAssign Publisherā modal in Campaign > Publishers.
Contract Type
There are two types of publisher contracts:
Fixed contract
CPL (Cost Per Lead)
Fixed Contract
Fixed type contracts are available only for Uncapped campaigns.
Fixed contracts are billed on a minimum leads required basis. When the contract type selected is āFixedā, the Payout column provides the option to fill in values for Contract Value and Minimum Leads.
For this type of contract, the publisher will be paid an amount mentioned in the āContract Valueā provided they are able to fulfil the āMinimum Leadsā configured; if not, they will not receive any payment.
This is irrespective of whether publisher bands are configured or not.
CPL Type Contract
CPL contracts are billed on per lead basis. CPL contract type is available for both capped and uncapped campaigns, configuration differs slightly when publisher bands are configured.
For Uncapped Campaigns
i. When publisher bands are not configured:
When publisher bands are not available, the number of leads required from a publisher can be configured as āDefaultā or as āUncappedā.
If the choice is Default, then the number of leads required must be filled in. Each of the valid lead will be billed at the rate configured under āPayout'. In the example given above, the requirement for the publisher is 20 leads, each of which will be billed at the rate of $10.
If the choice is āUncappedā, then there is no minimum or maximum number of leads required. Any valid lead will be billed at the rate configured under āPayout'. In the example given above, each valid lead will be billed at the rate of $10.
ii. When publisher bands are configured:
When publisher bands are enabled on the campaign, the number of leads required of a publisher can be configured as āDefaultā, āUncappedā or as āCaps on Bandsā.
In the example given below, each valid lead will be billed at the rate of $10.
If the choice is āCaps on Bandsā, then number of leads required per band and the payout rate per band must be configured. Each valid lead will be billed based on the rate configured under āPayout' for the band that the lead belongs to. More details on payout based on bands available in Publisher Bands
Ā
For Capped Campaigns
i. When publisher bands are not configured:
When publisher bands are not available, the Cap (maximum number of leads required from the publisher) should be configured for each publisher. Each valid lead will be billed at the rate configured under āPayout' for that publisher.
ii. When publisher bands are configured:
When publisher bands are enabled on the campaign, the number of leads required of a publisher is configured as āCaps on Bandsā.
The number of leads required per band and the payout rate per band must be configured for each publisher assigned. Each valid lead will be billed based on the rate configured under āPayout' for the band that the lead belongs to. More details on payout based on bands available in Publisher Bands

Functionality | User Story | |
---|---|---|
1 | Fixed Contract Type | An Admin or Agency user can apply Fixed contract type on uncapped campaigns so that payment will be made to the publisher only if they submit a minimum number of leads as configured in the contract terms. |
2 | CPL (Cost Per Lead) Contract Type: Default | An Admin or Agency user can apply CPL contract type with default cap on uncapped campaigns, so that each valid lead will be billed at the same rate as configured under Payout, until the requirement configured under āDefaultā is met. |
3 | CPL Contract Type: Uncapped | An Admin or Agency user can apply on an uncapped campaign, CPL contract without any cap, so that all valid leads will be billed at the same rate as configured under Payout, without any min or max cap requirement. |
4 | CPL Contract Type: Caps on Bands | An Admin or Agency user can apply CPL contract type with caps on bands for capped and uncapped campaigns, so that each valid lead will be billed at the rate configured under Payout for that band, until the requirement configured for the given band is met. |
5 | CPL Contract Type: Capped | An Admin or Agency user can apply CPL contract type with a max cap for capped campaigns, so that each valid lead will be billed at the rate configured under Payout for that band, until the requirement configured for the publisher is met. |
