Problem Statement

Current notifications from the platform is limited. Either too frequent or not frequent enough, or focusing on the wrong actions for the current user groups of the platform. All notifications are currently performed via email only.

By introducing more granular events, types of delivery channel (browser notifications, email, Slack etc) and focusing on events that are important to user roles we feel our users will have better platform experiences and more confidence in the system.

Scope

Must have:

• Define a comprehensive list of notifications which a user can opt in for. This is defined as:

  • Admin, Super Admin

    • Campaign Created

    • Campaign Fulfilled

    • Campaign Deleted

    • Users Added

  • Agency

    • Campaign Created

    • Campaign Fulfilled

    • Campaign Deleted

    • Campaign Permission changes

  • Publishers

    • Import completed

    • Added to Campaign

    • Campaign allocation fulfilled

    • Changes to campaign rules

  • All users

    • Reports ready for export

    • Confirmation of background job

• Users must have an interface to customise the notifications they want to receive, the frequency of the notifications (immediately, daily round up, weekly round up)

• Users should be able to choose how to they want to receive the notifications, you should be able to choose multiple, for example.

• I should have a notification interface to see all notifications, new and historic

• We should support the following notifications from first release:

  • Email

  • Browser / Push

  • Webhook (We should aim for Slack support)

• The infrastructure for this should be a service external to the Convertr platform to ensure scalability

Nice to have:

• Once we’ve completed the Centralised User Management feature, it would be nice to have notifications available for all linked enterprises in a centralised location.
