General Activity Tracking

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to track general activity on our platform. General activity tracking is achieved via in-built GA functionality without any unique customisation.

Page Views and Engagement Time

New platform pages will have ‘v2’ in the URL.

  • Change dropdown to Path page and screen class

  • Search for desired page

Demographic

The below click events are setup via GTM which triggers a click on defined cypress tags (primarily utilised by QA team for automated testing):

  • Search for the below values to filter out all other events:

    • Click - Campaign Menu

      • Subnavigation items when within a campaign

    • Click - Dashboard

      • Table ‘actions’ column buttons

    • Click - Header

      • Exports, support and notifications items

    • Click - Publisher

Internal IP Exclusion

However as of 2022, Convertr transitioned to a managed IT service which has no need for a VPN, therefore all company devices have unique IP addresses and cannot be easily excluded. This means that any data should will include the usage of any internal users.

Aggregation of URLs

Prior to transitioning to GA4, we utilised GA3 which supported a ‘Search and Replace’ feature whereby a custom regex filter could be added:

Google Universal Analytics will be deprecated in July 2023. Therefore the transition to Google Analytics 4 is required. However, GA4 currently does not support URL ‘search and replace’. Therefore ID’s in URLs cannot be aggregated at this moment in time.
