Aggregation of URLs
(Last checked for feature support in 02/23)Prior to transitioning to GA4, we utilised GA3 which supported a ‘Search and Replace’ feature whereby a custom regex filter could be added:

Before applying this filter, URLs would output as individual items because each ID in the URL is unique, e.g.

Applying the ‘Search and replace’ filter removed number ID’s from analytic results and therefore allow aggregation of similar URLs, e.g.

Google Universal Analytics will be deprecated in July 2023. Therefore the transition to Google Analytics 4 is required. However, GA4 currently does not support URL ‘search and replace’. Therefore ID’s in URLs cannot be aggregated at this moment in time.
