This is here to help prevent duplication when multiple email address are linked to one individual. 

An example of how it would be implemented?

For instance if a lead with an email eg adam.carter@convertermedia.net comes into a campaign the second instance of a lead with this email will be flagged as a duplicatea B2B example you may want to group first name, last name and company name as you can see in the example below. This is to prevent the retrospective headache when the client queries why they have paid for 2 leads when collectively it is one.

For a B2C example this maybe done on first name, last name and home address, this can be very useful when campaigns are being run with incentives and users submit multiple requests with different emails. For example if a campaign has incentive to sign up like getting something for free this instance may occur more often.

Once flagged the platform then passes this information back on to the publisher.
